Otoplasty

The Otoplasty procedure is performed to improve position, shape and general proportion of the ears. Many individuals opt for an “ear pinning” procedure which moves the ears closer to the head—reducing the appearance of the ears as well. Otoplasty can also repair any birth defects that may have occurred. This procedure is not effective in treating hearing loss.

Cosmetic Goals

Moving ears closer to the sides of the individual’s head, as well as reducing size and correcting the overall shape of the ears.

Is It Right For Me?

You may have wanted to correct your ear position for a period of time or would like to modify the shape and size of your ears. The patient’s goals are always the number one priority and discussed thoroughly in the initial consultation. Strong candidates for otoplasty include: children whose ears have developed (over the age of 7 or 8), physically and mentally healthy individuals as well as those with no history of ear problems.
