Breast Reduction Patient Testimonial
“I have started this letter over many times, trying to come up with the right words to express how insanely grateful I am to you. I will try to keep this brief and to the point as I see that you have very quickly risen to be one of the top plastic surgeons in the state of Minnesota…”

Who is a Good Candidate for Breast Reduction?
A private consultation at our Minneapolis office will determine whether breast reduction surgery is right for you. However, if you have experienced one or more of the following due to having overly large breasts, you are likely a good candidate:
- Back, neck, or shoulder pain
- Skin irritation
- Posture problems
- Painful indentations from bra straps
- Pain during exercise
- Feelings of self-consciousness
Breast Reduction Procedure: What to Expect
When you contact us to explore the possibility of breast reduction, we will schedule a consultation in which you and Dr. Kovanda will discuss your surgical options. Among the issues you will discuss are your aesthetic goals, your anesthetic options, and your expectations of the surgery. This initial appointment will give Dr. Kovanda the information he needs to organize your individualized treatment plan.
On the day of the procedure, we will give you time to get comfortable in our office before administering your anesthetic. Your surgery will begin with Dr. Kovanda making an incision through which excess breast tissue and skin will be removed. By artfully redesigning the size and shape of your breasts, we will enhance your appearance while creating harmony and balance in your figure. Once we’ve achieved the desired results, your incisions will be closed. Your breasts will be wrapped with gauze, and an elastic bandage or surgical bra will be put in place to allow your incisions to heal properly.
It is normal for patients to experience mild swelling, bruising, and discomfort after surgery, and you will require a few weeks of healing before you are fully able to return to your regular level of activity. Our team will provide you with detailed post-surgical instructions.
The Benefits and Risks
There are both physical and emotional benefits to undergoing breast reduction. The procedure can dramatically reduce or eliminate pain caused by heavy breasts and make a woman feel more comfortable with and confident in her body. Each patient’s experience is entirely unique, but in general, our breast reduction patients have been highly pleased with their results.
As with any medical procedure, there are risks associated with breast reduction, but they are relatively rare and are almost always reversible. At Kovanda Aesthetic Surgery, we will strive to ensure that you have the most positive cosmetic surgery experience possible.
