Lost volume through the cheeks and in the backs of the hands occurs over time as a result of lessened elasticity. Many patients are turning to injectable treatments, rather than traditional cosmetic surgery, to reverse these effects. Restylane® Lyft is a product designed for this purpose.
What is Restylane® Lyft?
Restylane® Lyft is a hyaluronic acid based dermal filler. The product was formerly known as Perlane, and is designed to lift the cheeks, smooth smile lines, and even restore volume to the backs of the hands.
The Restylane® Lyft Procedure
Restylane® Lyft is injected with very fine needles. The formula contains lidocaine, which means that the treatment shouldn’t be painful and cuts down on the total time for the procedure, as additional pain-relieving treatments aren’t necessary. Restylane® Lyft procedures can be completed rather quickly. Appointments can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the number of injections.
How Long Does Restylane® Lyft Last?
Because hyaluronic acid is naturally and safely broken down by the body over time, the resulting plumpness from Restylane® Lyft is not permanent. Typically, results last between eight and ten months, and vary from patient to patient. After the results have subsided, you may choose to receive repeated injections to maintain your new appearance.
Typical injectable side effects, including bruising, redness, and swelling, can be expected with Restylane® Lyft. These should subside within a day or two. Some patients also experience mild pain, itching, or tenderness where they have received injections.
Restylane® Lyft injections do not have any associated downtime. After your appointment, you may return to work or other non-strenuous activities if you choose.
